Project objectives:
1, To develop students’ understanding and sensitivity of basic correct anthropometric
and ergonomics principles in design production/development
2. To expose students to design a small, yet functional structure for one person with the
understanding of basic human physiology, and comfort factors based on basic
technical knowledge;
3. To further develop students’ ability (skills) to communicate their initial ideas through
creative graphic presentation consisting of the conceptual and technical drawings.
For this group work project, we are commissioned to design a small and functional shelter for ONE homeless person.The shelter also able to assemble and dismantle whenever required and easy to fold, retractable and carry whenever is needed.The main materials used for this shelter is cardboard which from the recycle materials.
Therefore, based on the project,i learned that a reference to the anthropometric data is necessary to ensure crucial ergonomics design principles seriously taken into consideration before finalizing the design of the structure. We also must understanding the materials that we use in the design is very crucial.
